KS2 non-fiction writing worksheet that helps Year 5 and Year 6 children write persuasive copy for everyday items, using a printed Victorian-house advert as a model.
A short rule explains that adverts use short, snappy sentences, descriptive vocabulary, bold writing for key information and a picture to catch the eye. A worked advert sells a Victorian house using these features. Children then write their own adverts on the page, with one prompt asking them to sell a magic lamp. The last advert space is left blank so they can choose any item of their own to sell, and they can include a contact name and phone number. A closing prompt invites them to think of more items to advertise and make more adverts of their own.
