Year 6 children sit four papers in SATs week: arithmetic, reasoning, English reading, and SPaG (spelling, punctuation and grammar). The papers test the maths and English the National Curriculum covers across KS2.
KS2 SATs week falls in the second full week of May 2027. Children sit one paper a day across four days, plus a short oral spelling test.
Past-paper style practice in short sessions builds familiarity with the question shapes. Twenty minutes a day across arithmetic, reasoning, reading and SPaG covers all four papers. Our revision packs follow the same format as the real papers.
KS2 SATs run in the second full week of May. Children sit one paper a day across four days.
Four papers: arithmetic, two reasoning papers, an English reading paper, and a SPaG paper. There is also a short oral spelling test as part of SPaG.
Arithmetic is 30 minutes. Each reasoning paper is 40 minutes. Reading is 60 minutes. SPaG question paper is 45 minutes, and the spelling test is around 15 minutes.
There is no single pass mark. Raw marks are converted to a scaled score and 100 is the expected standard. The exact raw-mark threshold changes slightly each year.
Yes for state-funded primary schools in England. Independent schools and home-educators are not required to take them.
