KS2 division worksheet that teaches Year 3 and Year 4 children the short division method with carrying.

A worked example walks through 72 divided by 3 using the bus stop layout: 7 divided by 3 is 2 remainder 1, the 1 is carried over to make 12, 12 divided by 3 is 4, giving an answer of 24. Children then complete twelve numbered short division sums of their own, practising the carrying step on a mix of two-digit and three-digit dividends. The compact format prepares children for the more efficient written method they will use later in KS2.

Useful for KS2 SATs revision, homework or classroom intervention on written division. Find more division practice in our division worksheets for KS2 ages 7 to 9. Printable PDF, A4, downloads instantly after purchase.
