KS1 place value worksheet that uses a hundred square to help Year 1 children find 10 more than a given number.
Children colour each starting number in one colour, then colour the number that is 10 more in a second colour, before writing the answer. The pattern of moving straight down one row each time builds the place-value insight that adding 10 changes the tens digit and leaves the units digit the same. The page provides thirteen starting numbers spread across the square, including 5, 15, 17, 25, 40, 47, 53, 86, 71, 90, 1, 38 and 66, with the first one already done as a worked example.
Useful for homework after a place-value lesson, parent-led practice at home or small group intervention. More addition work sits in the addition worksheets for KS1 ages 5 to 7. Printable PDF, A4, downloads instantly after purchase.
