KS2 money worksheet that helps Year 3 and Year 4 children work out how much change is owed when paying with a £5 note.

A worked example walks through the counting-on strategy: starting from £3.50, count 50p up to £4.00, then £1 more to £5.00, giving £1.50 change. Children then work out the change from £5 for fifteen amounts ranging from £4.95 down to £1.07, including whole pounds, common decimals like £4.50 and trickier amounts ending in odd pence like £2.92, £3.74 and £1.36.
