EYFS phonics worksheet that helps Reception children identify the ch sound at the start and end of common words.
Children look at twelve pictures and listen for the ch sound in each word. They write ch in the gap (at the beginning or end of the word) then copy the full word on the line underneath. The words cover everyday vocabulary including watch, chips, witch, match, cheese, hatch, catch, chick, sandwich, children, cherries and beach, mixing ch as an initial sound with ch as a final sound so children hear it in both positions.
Useful for Year 1 phonics screening preparation, Reception revision or classroom intervention. Pair this with our phonics worksheets for EYFS ages 4 to 5 for more phonics practice. Printable PDF, A4, downloads instantly after purchase.
