KS2 place value worksheet that helps Year 3 and Year 4 children show two-, three- and four-digit numbers as dots on an abacus split into thousands, hundreds, tens and units columns.
A short word bank reminds children of the terms units, tens, hundreds and thousands. They then work through twelve numbered tasks. Tasks 1 to 6 cover two-digit and three-digit numbers (114, 625, 209, 15, 54 and 632), where children draw dots in the hundreds, tens and units columns and write the value of the underlined digit underneath. Tasks 7 to 12 extend the same idea to four-digit numbers (2759, 3341, 5160, 7051, 4822 and 2111) across thousands, hundreds, tens and units.
Useful for KS2 SATs revision or homework on place value. More number work sits in our number worksheets for KS2 ages 7 to 9. Printable PDF, A4, downloads instantly after purchase.
