KS2 number puzzle worksheet that gives Year 3 and Year 4 children two logical arrangement problems using the digits 1 to 9.
In Puzzle 1 children place the nine digits in a square arrangement so that each side adds up to 12, using each number once and one number per square. In Puzzle 2 children use the same digits across three squares so that each square has a total of 15. Both puzzles ask children to test, adjust and retry, which builds the resilience and number-bond fluency that supports mental arithmetic across the curriculum.
Useful as a stretch task after a maths lesson, a homework challenge or a settling activity at the start of a session. More number and word-problem work sits in the number worksheets for KS2 ages 7 to 9. Printable PDF, A4, downloads instantly after purchase.
