KS1 fractions worksheet that helps Year 1 and Year 2 children name what fraction of a shape is shaded.
A short rule explains that a fraction tells us how many parts of a whole one we have, with the bottom number showing the total parts and the top number showing how many are shaded. Children then look at nine shapes and write the fraction that is shaded for each, with halves, thirds and quarters covered. To finish, they draw three shapes of their own and colour in either one half or one quarter.
Useful for KS1 SATs revision, a warm-up before fractions group work or a quick recap of part-whole understanding. Browse our fractions worksheets for KS1 ages 5 to 7 for more fraction tasks. Printable PDF, A4, downloads instantly after purchase.
