KS2 multiplication worksheet that moves children from expanded short multiplication to the compact short multiplication method for two-digit by one-digit calculations.
A worked example shows 27 times 3 set out both ways, with the expanded version adding 21 and 60 to give 81 and the compact version using a carried digit to reach the same answer. Children then work through nine short multiplication sums including 76 times 4, 51 times 8, 75 times 3, 43 times 6, 83 times 5, 56 times 4, 62 times 8, 38 times 9 and 50 times 8.
Useful for Year 4 and Year 5 children who already know their times tables and are ready to multiply in columns. Fits classroom intervention, homework or revision before KS2 SATs. More multiplication work sits in the multiplication worksheets for KS2 ages 7 to 9. Printable PDF, A4, downloads instantly after purchase.
