KS2 geometry worksheet that introduces Year 3 and Year 4 children to the classic Chinese seven-shape tangram puzzle, building shape vocabulary and spatial reasoning.
Children first name each of the seven shapes that make up the tangram (squares, triangles and a parallelogram), then cut the printed tangram at the bottom of the page into its seven separate pieces. They re-arrange the pieces to make the printed silhouette pictures and work out what each picture shows. A closing prompt encourages them to invent their own tangram pictures.
Useful for KS2 shape topic work, hands-on geometry homework or a thinking-skills starter. See related work in our shape and measurement worksheets for KS2 ages 7 to 9. Printable PDF, A4, downloads instantly after purchase.
