KS2 place value worksheet that helps Year 3 and Year 4 children break four-digit numbers into thousands, hundreds, tens and units, and combine them again.
Children work through four short tasks. They combine six partitioned numbers back into a single four-digit number (such as 2000 + 400 + 20 + 3, and 1000 + 300 + 40). They state the value of an underlined digit in six four-digit numbers. They write three four-digit numbers (6496, 7910 and 2061) out as words. To finish, they fill in the missing partitioned value in six more partitioned sums, including missing thousands, hundreds, tens and units.
