KS2 division worksheet that introduces Year 3 and Year 4 children to the chunking method, a written approach to dividing two-digit numbers.
A worked example shows 87 divided by 4 using chunking, with two chunks of ten lots of four subtracted then one final lot of four, giving an answer of 21 remainder 3. Children then choose from a bank of dividends (73, 89, 46, 84, 92, 55, 80 and 69) and divisors (3, 4, 5, 6 and 7) to build their own division sums and work them through the same way. A space rocket and a row of stars give the sheet a visual theme that suits home use or a classroom display.
Useful for KS2 SATs revision, classroom intervention or homework on chunking division. See related work in our division worksheets for KS2 ages 7 to 9. Printable PDF, A4, downloads instantly after purchase.
