KS1 geometry worksheet that helps Year 1 and Year 2 children name the number of faces, edges and vertices on six common 3D shapes.
A worked example introduces the vocabulary using a cube (6 faces, 12 edges and 8 vertices, also called corners). Children then complete a table for six 3D shapes (cube, cuboid, cylinder, prism, cone and pyramid), writing the number of faces, edges and vertices for each one. The mix covers shapes with curved surfaces (cylinder, cone) as well as straight-edged shapes, exposing children to the limits of the standard counting rules.
