KS1 addition worksheet that helps Year 1 and Year 2 children practise mental addition by stacking number bricks.
An addition wall is a pyramid of bricks where each brick holds the sum of the two bricks directly beneath it. Children read the partial walls on the page, work out the missing bricks by adding pairs together and fill them in. The walls vary in size, with target totals such as 10, 12 and 15 at the top, so children practise both forwards (bottom up) and backwards (working out a missing bottom brick from the total above). To finish, they design their own addition walls from scratch.
Useful for KS1 mental maths warm-ups, homework or classroom intervention on number bonds. Find more addition practice in our addition worksheets for KS1 ages 5 to 7. Printable PDF, A4, downloads instantly after purchase.
