KS1 phonics worksheet that helps Year 1 and Year 2 children sort sixteen words into three rhyming families ending in ake, ock and ad.

A short reminder explains that rhyming words end with the same sound. Children then colour the sixteen printed words using three colours, one for each rhyming pattern: ake words (cake, wake, bake, make, take, rake and snake), ock words (sock, lock, rock, clock and block) and ad words (dad, mad, pad, sad, had and bad). They sort the words into three labelled groups on the page, then write three sentences using a word from each group.

Useful for KS1 phonics revision, classroom intervention or homework on rime patterns. Pair this with our phonics worksheets for KS1 ages 5 to 7 for related work. Printable PDF, A4, downloads instantly after purchase.
