EYFS writing worksheet that helps Reception children write their first complete sentences using the everyday starter “I like to”.
Children first draw two pictures of things they like to do, one in each box on the page. Underneath each picture, they finish the sentence “I like to ___” with their own idea. They then have three more lines to extend their writing, starting with “I” and continuing any way they choose. The repetition of “I like to” lets early writers focus on phonics and letter formation in the verb and object slot, while the picture acts as a memory and motivation anchor.
Useful for early writing units, classroom intervention or parent-led practice at home. Find more writing practice in our writing worksheets for EYFS ages 4 to 5. Printable PDF, A4, downloads instantly after purchase.
