KS1 addition and subtraction worksheet that helps Year 1 and Year 2 children see how addition and subtraction are linked, using picture sets of objects under 20.
Children look at each rectangle showing two groups of objects, count how many there are in each group and work out how many altogether. They then write the matching addition and subtraction sums for each picture. The first set is worked through as an example (10 plus 6 equals 16, then 16 take away 10 equals 6) and the remaining sets give children space to practise on their own using totals up to 20.
Useful for KS1 SATs revision, classroom intervention or homework on fact families. Find more addition practice in our addition worksheets for KS1 ages 5 to 7. Printable PDF, A4, downloads instantly after purchase.
