KS1 spelling worksheet that helps Year 1 and Year 2 children break a word down into its individual phonics sounds before writing it.
A worked example shows that the word truck is made of three sounds: tr, u and ck. Children then break fifteen words into their separate sounds and write each sound underneath: train, sleep, start, thump, sting, night, bright, burn, coin, leaf, cheap, sister, teacher, brown and goat. The mix covers consonant blends (tr, sl, st and br), trigraphs (igh) and vowel digraphs (ea, oa, ow and oi).
Useful for KS1 SATs spelling revision, classroom intervention or homework on phonics-driven spelling. Pair this with our phonics worksheets for KS1 ages 5 to 7 for related work. Printable PDF, A4, downloads instantly after purchase.
