KS2 spelling worksheet that introduces children to the suffixes ful and less and how they change a noun into an adjective.

The page explains that ful means full of and less means without or free from, with the contrast example helpful versus helpless. Children then add both ful and less to eight root words: help, care, colour, pain, power, thought, use and hope, filling a small grid of the new adjectives they create. The second task gives five sentences with a missing adjective for children to complete using a word they made earlier, including the boy in the hospital waiting room and the new vacuum cleaner that did not pick up any dirt.

Useful for Year 3 and Year 4 spelling, classroom intervention or homework. More spelling work sits in the spelling and punctuation worksheets for KS2 ages 7 to 9. Printable PDF, A4, downloads instantly after purchase.
