KS2 spelling worksheet that helps Year 3 and Year 4 children change the meaning of a root word by adding one of three common prefixes.

A short rule explains that un and dis both mean not and can flip the meaning of a word (tidy becomes untidy), while re means again or back (play becomes replay). Children then fill in the missing word in eight sentences using a printed bank of prefixed words (unclean, return, disconnect, reorder, unwell, untied, dismount and disagree), covering scenarios including an evil witch, a brave soldier, an unplugged appliance and a paper run-out. A closing prompt asks them to think of more words beginning with un, dis or re.
