KS1 grammar and punctuation worksheet that helps Year 1 and Year 2 children separate items in a list using commas, finishing with the word and before the last item.

A short rule explains that commas separate items in a list and that the last two items are joined by and rather than a comma. A printed example shows the rule in action: the colours of a rainbow are red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet. Children then copy and finish five sentence starters in the same way, including “My favourite colours are”, “My best friends are called”, “The corner shop sells”, “The four seasons are” and “I like to eat”.

Useful for KS1 SATs revision, classroom intervention or homework on commas. More punctuation work sits in our spelling and punctuation worksheets for KS1 ages 5 to 7. Printable PDF, A4, downloads instantly after purchase.
